How we work
What happens after you call us.
Five stages, from the first conversation to the support period after launch. Each one lists what we need from you and what you get back, so nothing waits on an approval nobody knew they owed.
-
01Day one
Conversation
You tell us the problem. We tell you honestly whether we are the right team for it, and roughly what it involves. Around one in five conversations ends with us pointing someone elsewhere, which is a better outcome for everybody than taking work we are wrong for.
What we need from you
- A description of the problem, not a spec
- Roughly when you need it
- Anything already in place we should know about
What you get
- An honest fit assessment
- A rough shape and timeline
- A fixed quote once scope is clear
-
02Week 1
Discovery
Before anyone opens a design file we want to understand what you sell, who buys it, what they compare you against, and what success means six months from now. For anything search-related this is also where keyword research happens, because customers rarely search using the words a business uses about itself.
What we need from you
- Access to someone who knows the customers
- Existing brand files, if any
- Competitors you measure yourself against
What you get
- Discovery notes and agreed objectives
- Keyword and competitor research
- Recommended approach
-
03Week 1–2
Direction
Written creative direction and page structure, agreed before design starts. This is the stage clients are most tempted to skip and the one that saves the most time. Arguing about a moodboard costs nothing; arguing about a finished homepage costs a week.
What we need from you
- Feedback within a few days
- One person empowered to approve
- Honest reactions rather than polite ones
What you get
- Written creative direction
- Moodboards or wireframes
- Sitemap and page structure
-
04Week 2–6
Build
Design and development, with scheduled review points rather than a single reveal at the end. You see the key templates before the rest is built on top of them, so a change at that stage is cheap. For larger systems we deliver in stages, so you are using the first useful part long before the whole thing is finished.
What we need from you
- Content, images and any data to migrate
- Reviews at agreed checkpoints
- Decisions when we hit a fork
What you get
- Designed templates for approval
- Staged builds you can click through
- Weekly progress updates
-
05Final week, then ongoing
Launch & support
Testing across real devices, speed and accessibility checks, analytics and Search Console connected, redirects mapped if we are replacing an existing site. Then training for your team, every credential handed over, and a support period while you settle in.
What we need from you
- A couple of hours for training
- Domain and hosting access, if we do not already have it
What you get
- Live, tested site or system
- All credentials and source files
- Training and written documentation
- Support period after launch
Things we do differently, and why
Fixed scope, fixed quote
You know the figure before work starts. Hourly billing rewards slowness and makes clients afraid to ask questions.
You own everything
Domain, hosting, source code, design files and admin accounts stay in your name. Leaving us should never be difficult.
We say no
If a service will not work for your business, we say so. A retainer that produces nothing costs us more in reputation than it earns.
No lock-in contracts
Monthly work continues because it is working, not because of a clause. We keep clients by delivering.
One team, no subcontracting
The people you meet are the people doing the work. Nothing is quietly passed to a stranger.
Reporting you can read
Plain language, leading with enquiries. Nobody needs a forty-slide deck of impressions.
Start with the conversation.
No obligation and no sales script — just a straight answer on whether we can help.
